Just to let you all know about the updates, though you have probably seen them. We now have Facebook 'likes' on many of the sites pages, if you do like something, please Facebook like it as it will help drive traffic to the site.

Also, we now have Facebook connect again; I'm sure you'll have seen the link above - it should all work fine including linking your account to Facebook - the only slight issues you may have are if you use multiple Facebook and/or multiple WSFF accounts - but to some degree you're on your own with that; lots of browser cache and cookie clearing.

Another Facebook addition is that when you're 'connected' you can post replies and posts made on WSFF to your Facebook wall - again this will help us to drive traffic to the site, so we'd appreciate it if you did ;-)

You can also invite all your Facebook friends to the site by going to http://wespeakforfreedom.com/facebook_invite

Lastly, we have started caching of the site server-side to speed things up a little; if you notice any problems with this, please let me know.

As always, feedback is welcomed.

FB and WSFF Profile

Is there a way to not have your Facebook profile (picture and name) included in your WSFF profile? Or am I doomed to have my Facebook name and picture to always match up?

i can delete the link between

i can delete the link between your accounts if you like - or you could try uploading a new picture etc. on your edit profile - that *should* over write your facebook one, but it will depend if facebook syncs it each time you log in. Let me know if you need me to destroy the accounts link.

Delinked

Actually, I just went to Facebook and deleted the application. Don't worry, I still clicked "like" on the WSFF Connect.

With all the anti-privacy

With all the anti-privacy stuff facebook does and is known for, doesn't it seem ironic that we allow people to connect to this site with facebook?

At the moment there are no laws forcing us to have a Facebook, people know the risks and have a choice, but it is a good point to bring up Delta

It is worth pointing out that

It is worth pointing out that a lot of people sign up with legitimate accounts but don't actually know of the risks…Facebook is nothing but a blind following.

Appeal

True. Just a blind following that's very enticing. "So you're saying that I can keep in touch with ALL of my friends from grade school, my past jobs, or communities? Sign me up!"
Even I'm guilty of this.
